The Carolina Women’s Leadership Council had another successful Eve Marie Carson Lecture and Annual Meeting in February 2025. Thursday evening, we heard from Liza Roberts, an arts and culture journalist who shared more about her recent publication, Art of the State: Celebrating the Visual Art of North Carolina and her successful effort to highlight Carolina artists at the Chancellor’s Residence in Chapel Hill. Through her conversation with Carolina artists, Leigh Suggs, ’03 and Thomas Sayre, ’73 – we learned more about how their time on our campus contributes to their inspiring work and how each continues to represent the breadth and boldness of artists from North Carolina.

Friday morning, we gathered at the Carolina Inn for CWLC’s Annual Meeting that was focused around Chancellor Lee Roberts initial four areas of focus for Carolina. Specifically, how Carolina is working to increase enrollment, update our buildings and facilities, and implement AI in the classroom. Thank you to everyone who participated and attended our 2025 conference!
